The Panasonic TX-P46G10 - A Review

by Paige Chen

In a world of rapidly advancing technology energy consumption has become a bigger issue in most families. Electronic devices now take up more electricity in our homes and businesses than ever before. Plasma TV sets are one of the technological developments that are known for sucking up too much electricity and they are viewed as not being a green choice for consumers. The TX-P46G10 has made some progress in changing that view of plasma screen TVs by reducing energy consumption by half.

The most impressive change Panasonic made with the TX-P46G10 may just be the increased energy efficiency. Consumers have been concerned about excessive energy consumption in plasma televisions since these TV sets were released.

Many people are nervous about buying a plasma screen televisions because of the picture issues that many models have had and the tracers that appear behind objects on the screen as they move. Many of these issues have been vastly improved in the Panasonic Viera TX-P46G10.

On top of the excellent picture quality, the Panasonic TX-P46G10 also offers excellent sound quality. A great picture is worth less when the sound quality does not match up, but there is no problem in that department with this television. The Panasonic Viera TX-P46G10 integrates HD technology for the clearest digital picture. The HD television compatibility also makes it possible to connect to HD TV services offered by your cable provider. Many available television shows are now offered in HD only and without an HD television it is impossible to view those programs.

Despite the vastly improved picture quality and quicker screen motion, the Panasonic Viera TX-P46G10 may still not be the television set for video game play. There can still be a minimal amount of flickering on the screen although this issue has been largely resolved compared to previous plasma television sets from all manufacturers.

The picture quality of the Panasonic TX-P46G10 is just as good as the impressive sound quality and HD compatibility is a must-have in today’s digital world. In addition to these features, there are also memory card slots that allow you to view digital pictures and digital video from your camera on the plasma screen. This can be a fun and effective way to share photos with visitors.

Considering the vast improvements to this model I would recommend it for the price. It is priced in the mid-range for this size and type of TV set, but it certainly does not have mid-range features. The picture quality of the Panasonic TX-P46G10 is matched by the excellent sound quality and HD compatibility. On top of these features, this model also has memory card slots that allow you to view pictures and video from your digital camera on the television set screen. This can be a great way to share photos with family and friends who stop by for a visit.

Panasonic may not have redesigned the plasma television set with the intention of making a more energy efficient model, but that is what happened. It is pure genius that the TX-P46G10 uses half the energy, but has such amazing picture and sound quality. It seems that Panasonic did quite well with this one.
