« A Short Review Of The Goonies   Good Acoustic Songs - Finding Today’s Best Acoustic Tunes »

by Jeff Smith

It is both absurd and next to impossible to accurately predict all the changes in technology that will occur. One can not hope to be right all the time and to foresee the amazing and radical changes that are sure to abound. Even if one tracks the advent of technology with regards to television, using an HDTV antenna as an example, they will see just how amazing technological revolutions can be for humans everywhere.

A long time ago the radio was invented. When this occurred, people were amazed by a new way to receive news and information. Humans could now communicate with people in their homes, with just their voice, and this changed the entire world almost over night. People got used to this new technology very quickly, and thus were able to adjust to television easily as well.

A reason that both radio and of course television became so widespread and popular was that not only is it impressive, but once the actual set was purchased, the programming was free. A person would pay for the set, but the signal was broadcast far and wide at no extra cost. It was just like the radio, but better, because people could see who was talking to them, which makes a difference in how perception works including factors like trust and credibility.

Of course the magical picture that humans used to expect on the screens they were viewing was anything but magical when compared to the standards one is accustomed to today. Prior to recent times, an individual would watch grainy black and white footage, and hope that the signal was clear. They had access to very few channels as well.

Over time the groups that make programming and deliver them to homes created a split. Some companies decided they would only sell their channels through a third party provider that charges a monthly rate. Other companies continued to use mandatory government channels that allow people free access to news and information.

One thing that changed for both groups was the quality of the picture and the signal. First came color, then other hybrid technologies of color that supposedly present a clearer and sharper picture. Very recently, hi definition television was invented, and now the world is in a whole new great place where anyone, for free, can get this amazing crisp image in their home.

This is not some secret that is spreading around quietly. It is a well established fact that if one purchases the right equipment, they can watch so many awesome perfectly clear stations for free, in their home. This new technology is not only available, it has been perfected and it is very pleasant to watch. All one must do is purchase the correct antenna.

The fact that this incredibly advanced technology is actually free for anyone with an HDTV antenna is remarkable and not something to be glossed over. This is not a scam or some weird loop hole in a system. It is a device that is absolutely necessary to receive free media and other cultural stations of importance. And now it is available in the highest, best form of visual technology ever invented.
