If the digital conversion has left you with televisions that only work when connected to cable or video equipment, it may be time to purchase some new digital televisions for every room in your home. Sony has been producing electronics for many years now. The Walkman was introduced in Japan in 1978. This little tape player is what eventually lead the way to MP3 players. Today Sony has many products other than the Walkman. Among other things, their products include digital televisions. Sony sets consistently are ranked near the top of the class for each type of set.

Sony has also tackled the problem with sound that is common to flat panel televisions. The speakers that are demanded by these thin sets have difficulty reproducing a full range of sound. Sony seems to have employed some of the technology that mad the sound so good on those little foam headphones of the Walkman in their televisions too. At least the sound quality of the Sony televisions seems to be higher than that of some of the other brands of TVs. It is still not good enough to be rated excellent, but is better than the average flat panel television.

If you have never had a flat panel television you will really appreciate the floor space that the set allows you to free up. You no longer need a television stand or entertainment center with these televisions. They are designed to mount directly to the wall requiring no floor space. If you want to continue using your entertainment center or your television stand, the television comes with a pedestal that allows for table top use.

Sony televisions are available in many sizes. They range from a personal set that you can hold in your hand to a monster that has a five foot screen. For most bedrooms, a thirty two inch set is very adequate and for your family room or home theater room, the larger set is a great choice.
