Lots of of the greatest children’s books have been modified to be adored movies. Famous family books that have stood the test of time are often first-class candidates to make a remarkable motion picture, yet, when a book is made into a motion picture it always begs the question of whether the book is better or the film is better and how closely does the film stick to the story line of the book?

A current movie adaptation from a children’s book is “The Spiderwick Chronicles” by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi. There are in reality five books in the sequence but just the individual motion picture so far. The motion picture follows the exploit of a family unit as they go into a new home. The children find a extraordinary ancient book that leads them to a world with elves, goblins, trolls, dwarves and other creatures. The film is from 2008.

A great kids book that has been made into a few of films all through the years is “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl. The book was first published in 1964 and in 1971 the movie “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” starring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka came out. Another motion picture called “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” came out in 2005, with Johnny Depp playing the lead of Willy Wonka. Both movies were quite authentic to the book.

One of everybody’s favorite children’s books seems to be “Charlotte’s Web” by E.B. White. The tome was in the beginning published in 1952 and it has never lost its regard. It is one of the most favorite children’s books of all times. It was first made into an cartoon feature film in 1973. A live action motion picture rendering was released in December 2006. Both films followed the story of the book just about exactly.

Dr. Seuss is one of the most beloved children’s authors of all times. A few of his books have been made into remarkable films. “Horton Hears a Who” came out in 2008 with Jim Carrey as the voice of Horton. This is an cartoon feature film that follows the storyline of the book nearly unerringly.

Another Seuss book, “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” had an animated version that came out in 1966. It followed the book nearly exactly. However, the big budget movie of “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” from 2000 added many new scenes and events. The film “The Cat In The Hat” which came out in 2003 also made many changes from the book.

The second highest grossing big screen series in the past was from the children’s sequence of books about “Harry Potter” by J.K. Rowling. 6 of the seven books of the series have now been made into films with a plan for two movies to be tailored from the 7th book for a total of eight movies altogether.

Children’s books time and again turn into films that are pleasurable for the entire family unit to observe. Reading the books aloud to your children and watching the films all together is a magnificent family activity, where remarkable reminiscences can be made.
