There are many different career paths an artistic type could choose. People who grew up doodling on pieces of paper could not use a computer to draw what their imagination thought up back then. Today, there are careers in television and film for engineers and audio engineering for the artistic type. One of the other popular artistic design areas that a lot of people don’t think about is sound engineering. This is also computer made by artists. Music and sounds could be considered artwork, especially if they are accompanied by photos or other types of visual artwork. Commercials or radio and television could have a sound recording laid over them to make some of the still photos come ‘alive’. The computer programs will stretch, bend and otherwise make a picture different from the original.

Just about any photo or picture, even a child’s drawing, could be scanned into a computer and made into a manipulated print that will become a work of art. The computer programs can change the pixels within the photo or picture, which means instead of having a regular group of tiny dots, ones the eye can not see, which forms the photo, they would be a different shape. This would give the photo or picture different dimensions and colors.

A lot of people are trading in their traditional art tools for a computer keyboard and mouse because they are less messy. Pencils, oil colors, acrylics and pens could all end up rubbing off and getting a person’s shirt and skin dirty. Also, with a computer screen, it is less of a hassle to erase or redo something then it is with a customary style art utensil. An individual could erase what they are doing on the computer monitor much easier than try to cover up a mistake in paint or pen.

There are several online tutorials and photography schools in Canada which teach how to make digital art. Several photography school offers grants or financial aide in order to help an individual pay for the cost of the schooling. In addition, some of these classes offer to help a person find a job in the field of computer artwork and other similar fields where a degree in art and electronics or graphics would work well together.
