The long awaited Final Fantasy XIII (FF XIII) will be here early next year. It is the first from the series to be release to PS3, and Xbox 360. To ease your wait there has been a re-release of the Final Fantasy VII movie, on Blu-ray.

This special edition Blu-ray, released in Japan, will include a demo for FFXIII game. It is a full hour of game play, but does not give away much of the storyline. Just enough to keep people excited.

The screen shots that have been leaked and released online look amazing and only make it that much harder to wait for the release next year, the demo will make the wait even harder. The only disappointing thing about the demo is that it is only going to be released as part of the special edition in Japan. The US fans will have to wait even longer for a demo and the release of the game.

In the meantime though, for those who missed the movie the first time around, it is worth watching, especially in HD. Although I guess that most fans of the series have probably already seen it, but if you haven’t added it to your collection, getting it on Blu-ray is the perfect way to experience the movie for the first time. There are plenty of extras to sink your teeth into, with artist concepts and behind the scenes. There is a making of documentary that delves into the art and music of the movie and the series.

The movie, continues the story of Cloud and other Final Fantasy VII characters. It creates a new chapter to the story, this time through all cut scenes and exceptional animation. Cloud and friends are challenged by a new form of evil and must overcome large odds to save the day. It is definitely a movie to have in any Final Fantasy fan collection.
