You have decided to throw a karaoke party, but you only have a certain type of music, that you and your friends have been enjoying. There lies a problem, if you are going to invite other people, as their tastes might be different from you and your closest friends. What you could do, is ask the people who are coming, if they would like to bring along their favourite choice and that way, everyone will be made happy. Another solution, could be to find out if there are any places which rent them out. Quite possibly they do.

One other thing you could do, is to download some songs from your computer, as these would not cost you anything. They come free to anyone wanting to take advantage of them. Eventually you will have enough music to suit each persons taste, as they come to the party. Sounds pretty exciting already.

To make your party more interesting, pick out a song, have two or three people come up and sing it, then have the others judge who would be the winner. Do not have the vote, by a raise of hands, as the people who do not get the most votes, might get upset. You should have them write it on a secret ballot, to keep everything going smoothly. This is going to be a great party. You must have a prize for the winner you know, to make it even more interesting, but wrap it up, so no one will be able to see what it is before the actual finish.

You could also take two or three from the different types of songs and pick the winner of that group, then have a sing-off, with the winners of the different groups of people and have the audience vote to find the one singer who is the best of the whole group. That should take care of your entertainment for the evening and you will be asked to have this another time too, before too long. Your collection of songs will have come in handy and of course the ones that your friends brought would be a big help too.

There are various ideas to choose from, to keep the night going, if you so desire. Instead of you choosing the specific song to be sung, put the names of some of the titles in a hat and let the people who want to take part, pull the name of the song out for themselves. See how they make out, following along on the karaoke machine to a song that they might not be so familiar with. This should prove to be an interesting concept.

You could also have a guessing game, a trivia contest of sorts. When someone sings a certain song, then the rest of the people get the chance to guess who the original artist was, who recorded it. Yes, you would take precidence, when it comes to the singing, but remember that there many of other budding stars out there, who would like to get a chance to sing too.
