Today, many of us get movie rentals at least a few times a month. Normally we will wait for the DVD rentals to hit the stores, as an alternative to watching films at the movie theaters. Here is a short list of some of big winners in the DVD rental world.

An additional avenue for acquiring movies is movie downloads. There are websites where you can purchase downloads of 1,000’s of movies. This a very convenient way to create a film library.

INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) returns to action, after a 19 year break. This makes four movies in the Indiana Jones series. In this, the latest adventure, Mr. Jones takes on the Russians. This time everyone is searching for ancient relics called the Crystal Skulls, which are thought to have secret powers.

THE LAZARUS PROJECT: One time crook Ben Garvey seems to have gotten his act together. With a stable home, and steady work, he has found happiness. Then, he loses his job, and he finds himself heading back into the criminal world. The heist is a complete failure, and he is sentenced to death. He fully expects to be killed by lethal injection. Incredibly, he now finds himself in a psychiatric ward. Now its all on the line, his sanity, and his soul.

LINEWATCH: Michael Dixon (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is a respected boarder agent in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. But Michael’s past is coming back to haunt him. He was part of a violent Los Angeles gang, but he had the courage to leave. When a bad twist of fate shows where he lives to his old gang, he and his family are put in grave danger. He must risk his future, and make sure that gang leader drake is able to safely get a huge illegal drug delivery into the U.S.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This film is about Military scientist Dr. Bruce Banner, who has been changed into a creature called the green Hulk. This feature film is based on the marvel comic hero, the Incredible Hulk. Edward Norton is the top star in this film. The director is Louis Leterrier. The film genre is sci-fi/action.

DECEPTION: Accountant Jonathan McQuarry has an unusual meeting with hot shot lawyer Wyatt Bose. It is a meeting that changes his life forever. John is exposed to “The List”, which offers a steamy sexual indiscretions. Unfortunately, he also finds himself in a treacherous game of back stabbing and death.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: Searching for his missing brother, professor Trevor Anderson travels to Iceland that puts him on a journey to the center of earth. This a new version of the original 1959 movie, that was formed from the classic work by celebrated writer Jules Verne. Directed by Eric Brevig, and starring Brendan Fraser.

THE HAPPENING: Confused and frightened, teacher Elliot Moore, along with his wife and some friends are leaving Philadelphia by train. Philadelphia has been thrown into chaos. People have been overwhelmed by an unusual force, and are dying at their own hands. Can mankind solve this dilemma, or is this the last stand of man on this planet?

IRON MAN: Man of the town, arms builder, Tony Stark is captured by insurgent fighters in Afghanistan. He is ordered to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He was wounded when his convoy was attacked, and has metal in his chest. To survive his injuries, and break away from his enemies, he creates a suit made of armor, that makes him super strong. We have a new comic book super hero on the scene.

SPEED RACER: A cartoon from the 90’s is now a movie hit. As you saw with The Flinstones, Speed Racer turns a cartoon to a movie with an actual cast. Young Speed Racer who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, a very dangerous race that his older brother had died racing in. With odds against him, and the family business on the line, he joins forces with his old rival Racer X, to attempt to take the title, and rescue the family racing business.
