To beat the Rams at home by a score of 9-7 isn’t exactly impressive, but they’ll take it however they can get it. At least the defense seemed to be effective. Then again, it all happened against the Rams, a team that struggled to score throughout 2008 and seems to have the same problem in 2009.

They lost to the Detroit Lions in week 3. Either the Detroit Lions were finally do for a win and it just happened to be against the Redskins - or the loss against the Lions showed the lack of focus and determination the Redskins have.

The Cowboys, Giants, and Eagles play competitive football nearly every year, and attempting to win that division is an extremely tall order for a team like Washington. For this reason, every game and every week matters to the fullest.

The Blu-ray Ascendancy

by James Pynn

It may be surprising, but PINOCCHIO is now 70 years old. Disney released the definitive Blu-ray edition of the beloved classic this past spring. This edition features a richer, more detailed version of the beloved classic and has a wealth of previously unreleased bonus material, hence the second disc. To be sure, the list of exclusive Disney DVDs being converted to the blue laser has grown exponentially.

The avid fan would be well advised to start saving. Over the past two years the Blu-ray catalog of films has tripled. Though most studios are release their home entertainment features on both DVD and Blu-ray, the future is exclusively blue. Seven of the big eight studios, including Disney, will be releasing future films exclusively on Blu-ray. This means the still relatively expensive Blu-ray readers will be dropping in price. It’s the CD revolution all over again.

Is The Sony LCD TV Worth The Money?

by Matthew Kerridge

With many television stations changing to high definition, consumers are more and more shopping for new televisions. LCD or Liquid Crystal Display is becoming a popular option for shoppers. A LCD tv utilizes a flat panel TV and liquid crystals to create the picture that a viewer sees. This technology is the same type as used for cell telephones or monitors. A brand presently on the market is the Sony LCD TV.

The liquid crystal display type of television or the LCD is constructed with two layers of a glass like material. These layers are then polarized and caught together. One of the layers is covered in a polymer layer that has single liquid crystals on it. Electricity is sent through the crystals. The crystals either allow the light to pass or block it out. This process creates the image we see today on televisions.

It is no mystery why this franchise has become the cultural phenomena it is today. With talented characters in a plot centering on the universal issues of following a dream and learning how to be true to your own identity, kids have cherished HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL from the very first verse to the last dance routine. It is speaking something to the young teenagers out there.

We follow Troy, the captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella, a shy, smart transfer student as they seek to understand themselves and their dreams. They must resist everyone else’s expectations and audition for their high school’s winter musical. Because the story centers on the struggles between members of two different social groups, its author and many critics refer to it as a contemporary Romeo and Juliet. Young people have continually struggled with expectations placed on them by their peers, and the film adeptly shares this.
